Oh! What a glorious day! We’ve made some progress on the bathroom. Not much, but progress…and any progress is better than no progress.

Yesterday he had the day off, he called me at work saying that he tried to hang a piece of drywall. I asked if he started on the ceiling, he said he did. I slightly giggled when he was telling me his problems. I told him to wait until I got home so he could have someone there to help him lift the drywall. He didn’t bother trying to make a drywall “lifter/holder.”

I get home and this is what I see…

I thought to myself…maybe I can even it out and we cans still use the board someplace else. Then I saw the bottom…

I stifled a giggle…and good think Husband couldn’t see me, or he would have been really mad. I then told him. “Oh…well I guess we’ll just chalk this board up to the first try.”

“What do you mean we can’t use it?!”

Hmm…well how do I tell him it’s bad and yet not tell him it’s bad?

"Um..see this is really jagged up here, and then see the bottom, that’s a ton of finish work to fill and sand back down and I am not doing that much finish work. So! We can just use it on some of the smaller areas!" Yay.

He was un-pleased, but didn’t complain.

Later on I forced him to help me (he did not want to) but for the most part I did all the work aside from lifting up the board and putting in the first 6 screws. Here is my handiwork. I even put my blemish in there because I’m not perfect either.

Updates

Zelda has stopped leaking...maybe. I don't want to call it and have her leak again. We picked her up a dogie diaper last night. She only leaked a little, and I made her wear it during the day today an no leaking. Tonight we are trying sleeping a full night sans protective wear. Well, if she leaks, I'll be one the pees on since she's fast asleep on my pillow.

The cuteness owns you.

The carpet in the bathroom is gone, and it's official, I do have the ugliest bathroom known to man.

That's the floor we found under the carpet.

This is the finished product. Including our awesome clearance rugs we found at Lowe's it also came with an area rug as well, which is now in the spare bed room.

oooh it's time to go, I'm getting the look of death from husband which means "stop fucking typing I'm trying to sleep."

FFS!

When it rains it pours I guess...at least that is how I am feeling today, and was feeling most of the weekend. Last night I had trouble sleeping, just frustration mostly. Chris knew I was frustrated and was trying to get me to go to bed but it just wasn't going to happen, at least not easily. I did fall asleep but it was a light sleep that I woke up many times during the night. I think last night was the worst because it's Sunday, and Sunday for me is always unwind time and get mentally ready for the week ahead.

Sunday day, I was busy tramping around Lowe's looking for a runner rug, because we came to the conclusion on Sunday that the carpet had to go, so I was ripping out carpet (in the bathroom - who puts carpet in the bathroom anyway) because the dog had an accident Friday morning. After days of trying to get the smell out we knew it was time for it to go, but we have nothing to replace it. Now it's some small runner and a bunch of other random throw rugs in the bathroom.

Sadly the accident wasn't a normal accident. It was very pungent due to the cocktail of medicines my dog received the night before. The pee even smelled like medicine not like "pee."

Saturday we went to the home show, came home let the dogs out, then went out to Gander Mountain's Fish Fest (exciting indeed) When we came home we found a wet spot on the couch. We smelled it, it didn't smell like pee and dogs do not pee where they sleep. Hmm mysterious...until Sunday.

Sunday, Chris is vacuuming the living room when he comes in to talk to me (who was doing the bills) and tells me that Zelda is peeing herself when she's sleeping. I come down and there is huge wet spot on the arm chair.

She got up from the chair and just moved to her dog bed. I'm just dumbfounded as to why she wouldn't just ask to go outside so very much unlike this dog. I go over and lift up one of her legs since she's on her bed, and what do I find that she's LEAKING! Like a leaky faucet!

We had to take her to my parents and let her stay there so she could be watched so we could rip out the carpet and fix that smelly problem.

Then later that night after a few hours of no leakiness she feel asleep on our bed. I was also in bed, so I was kind of watching here, but not well enough, because I realized it had been over two hours and she had been sound asleep. I checked on her and sure-enough there was leaky pee all over the bed. We had to sleep in the spare. The beading is all soiled. The love seat and arm chair both need to be washed. And we currently have things laying on all out furniture so dogs can't get on anything.

So about Sunday night I pretty much had had it. I was up on and off throughout the night to check for pee leakage, and I was up a few times to make Zelda go outside and go to the bathroom.

She's sleeping now. It's been two hours since potty break and no leakage yet. I hope we can make it to eight, so the skunks are back in their holes before I have to force her to go back out.

I need a vacation...

...from my life.

I guess what they say is true when it rains it pours.

Anyways, we just got home from the emergency animal hospital.

Seems Zelda got in to something, I don't know what, but here face was all puffed up. Real bad, like her eye was swelling shut. After a dose of Benydry which didn't do much I couldn't let it sit all night and headed to the EAH. Hung out there for the rest of the night met a lady who's dog they think has bloat. Way sucky, but at least she got the dog in not long after dinner. I hope that ends up with a happy ending.

Zelda is doing much better. I'm pooped. If it doesn't go away in the morning I have to head back in for more shots. Yay. It's nap time. If I head to bed now I should be able to get a few hours of sleep. I am so not spell checking this post either.

Grocery day!

Today was grocery day. I hate going to Meijer’s on Saturdays. HATE IT! I cannot stress enough how horrible that place on the weekend. Is it the store itself? No, it’s the massive amount of meandering people in the store. Wednesdays during the day are also a horrible time to go to Meijer’s because it must be senior citizen’s day. I think they load them up by the bus load and drop them off because it’s always full of really old people (you know the old people that can’t really walk any more) wondering around and bitching about the price of peanut butter. (In my day a jar of peanut butter was only 10 cents) That’s wonderful grandpa but I really only have an hour before I have to be back to work.

Alas, I digress.

We pull in to the Meijer’s and I’m already cursing in the car about how busy the parking lot is, if the parking lot is backed up to the snow banks that means the inside is even more jam packed with people.

As we made our way to pick up our nutrients for the next few weeks (and maybe some cleaning products) I was bombarded with people who couldn’t drive their carts, or were not aware of anything around them. I was almost taken out by a can of Dinty Moore by some guy in a brown leather bomber jacket with a hair cut from 1982 as he swung wildly around to his cart after finding the .99 cent special on Dinty Moore stews. A young couple decided to stop their cart in the middle of on aisle and argue about the dishwasher soap. Maybe if you drove a yugo you could have gotten around them, but not with a cart full of food items. My husband even tried to be polite and say “excuse me” to which the man of the couple looked at him and shrugged.

That would not be appropriate response, a correct response would be to move your dispute about which cleaning brand you wish to use to the side so other people from either direction could pass. A lady on the other side of them was equally as annoyed, and I almost took them out with my cart. I should have. I bet they drive a mini-van and are planning on producing a gaggle of dim-witted babies.

My problem is I like Meijer the best out of all the grocery stores, so even if I have to deal with mass stupidity I still go back, because I know it’s not the store, just some of the patrons.

Also, I need to remember to only go to the store on Wednesday or Thursday nights. Thursday nights are the best. It’s when they are the most empty.

WTF is the internet!

I joined twitter today. I heard about twitter but thought now why would anyone WANT to be that connected, and in all honesty I don't, but I'm also lazy. Lazy being the key term. This way I can pretend that I'm keeping in touch with people and that people actually care enough to want to know what I'm doing all day long.

Cabbage Hats!
